Another fantastic juicer from the Breville Group. While a slightly older model the increased power and further options to play with combined with the smart chip auto-asjuster make this a modest step up from the Breville Fountain Plus. Having stood the test of time this Juicer has proved to be a firm favourite for those who know exactly what they want and how to make it. At a more than reasonable price, often found discounted below the aforemetioned Juicer Plus model (no doubt due to its release date) it is no surprise it holds the Best Seller badge on Amazon.

The Pros

900-watt Motor – This juicer comes with a heavy-duty 900-watt motor which revs up from speeds anywhere between 6,500 RPM to 12,000 RPM.

5-speed Selector tailored for different food groups– This is the stellar feature of this juicer. its multi-speed selector function which, coupled with its LCD juicing speed guarantees maximum juice extraction every time. Simply select the speed which is best suited for the produce you are juicing, and the juicer will extract the most goodness possible.

Extra-wide Feed Chute – Measuring a generous width of 3 inches, the large feed chute accommodates large chunks of fruits and vegetables so that prepping your produce is easy.

Patented Nutri-Disc System – The cutting blades are reinforced with titanium which helps keep the blades sharp much longer. The sharp blades cut the pulp against a stainless steel mesh filter basket for efficient juice extraction.

Noise and Vibration Control – The patented Direct Central Feed System centers the chute directly over the Nutri Disc to minimize noise and vibration.

The Cons

Moderate Noise – While every effort has been made to ensure some noise cancellation and muffling exists, the noise associated with Centrifugal Juicers is always a drawback.
Some Frothing - Again, unavoidably with centrifugal juicers, the immediate oxidisation due to the airflow caused by moving parts does lead to moderate frothing in some cases.
Juicing of Leafy Greens is tricky - Another known feature of centrifugal juicers. While this juicer does command a greater efficiency over some of the harder fruits and vegetables, leafy greens remain the kryptonite of this type of juicer.

Verdict

It's not often a piece of machinery comes along and stands as long as this one has. Sure there have been some increases in capability and some design aspects internally, both in terms of composition and raw materials may be slightly different for some of the newer models, but the jury is out on this longstanding customer favourite, especially with the built-in smart chip function. If you can catch this Juicer on offer it would be hard not to justify snatching it up. With all the fantastic feedback it has received over the years and its continued stock movement this is certainly setting the standard for Juicers old and new.

The Breville Juice Fountain Plus runs on a capable 850 watts - enough power to extract 8 ounces of juice in only 5 seconds - and has two speeds, 12,000RPM or 6,500RPM, for hard and soft fruits and vegetables.

This Breville Juice Fountain Plus is a good choice for newbies in juicing who are still feeling their way around juicers and are afraid to invest in high-end masticating juicers. The simple 2-speed setting and the juicing-only capabilities is enough to satisfy those who simply want a healthful juice everyday but not for those looking for the all-round juicer and pulp functionality such as cakes, pastas, lasagnes etc. It is the juicer of choice for busy people who don’t have the luxury of time and need to have their morning juice quick.

This juicer will not satisfy those who insist on froth-free juice and exist on a diet mostly consisting of leafy greens. Due to the oxidising nature of this centrifugal machine you can’t expect to have juice that will last for as long as 3 days or more without some consistency issues.

Overall, this juicer rates highly when you consider the balance of many factors — speed, efficiency, simplicity, durability and price. It is excellent for juicing hard and soft vegetables and at best satisfactory for extracting the juice of leafy greens. Speed and power are its key features.
